help setting up a name and cname
hey all
im trying to set up my dns for a domain which i bought and would like to do a few things first off i would like to point subdomain's to diff ip addresses and have my main domain pointed elsewhere , for eg irc.mydomainname.co.uk - first pc forum.mydomainname.co.uk - secondpc www.maindomainname.co.uk to a webhost how do i do this through a and cname btw an example of a/cname records would be sweet

Read the sticky topic "Bet you want to setup a dns server huh?". If you are the intuitive type, you should figure out how to adapt the tutorial to fit your needs. It provides examples of A records, but not CNAME records. Doesn't sound like CNAME is appropriate for your situation anyway.
