Help With Exim DNS Problem
When i try to send an email to a @mmu.ac.uk doman using a php script that uses exim to send i get the following in a return email:
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<j.shiach@mmu.ac.uk>: host load-balance-smtpin.mmu.ac.uk [149.170.190.144]: 550 HELO/EHLO requires a Fully Qualified Domain Name It works fine when i send the exact same email to @hotmail.com I use firstns.com for my domain name and because i dont have a static ip i use no-ip to get one. My isp wont give me one ![]() The www.b3nji.com is set as a CNAME(Alias) in my domain name maintance. Is their anyway i can stop the above error. THe config has 2fields for mail: @ 216.168.60.84 A(Address) mail 209.19.56.20 MXE(Mail Easy) Any help would be appricated. Thanks Ben |

I don't get it. You think that there's something wrong with your DNS setup for b3nji.com because you have problems sending mail to j.shiach@mmu.ac.uk?
If that is the case, then I think not. I think you just need to configure your mail sending application to use a fully qualified domain name (i.e. mail.b3nji.com instead of just 'mail') when it sends the HELO or EHLO command. If I got the wrong idea as to the problem then correct me.
