Hosting my own site and DNS issues
I wanted to host my own site and cloud backup with ownCloud and thought I had to setup my own DNS server.

I registered a domain via GoDaddy but not sure what NS I use.
After reading a bit more it seems I shouldn't have a DNS server the same machine (?) so wondered if No-IP Plus would work? If so I take it I wouldn't have to bother with any DNS roles with Server 08 as I could just use the No-IP software?

You're going to run into the "XY problem" otherwise.

Tell us what you have, and what you'd like to achieve.

Example: I registered a name ***here***, and want to host my nameservers on Windows DNS machines, but I don't know how. My Win DNS server has this IP: x.x.x.x

You can set up a web server without running your own dns server if you want. I just use godaddy's dns server for many of the domains I have registered there but run the web server(s) on different machines at different locations.

If you are making regular and frequent DNS changes for some reason, this may not be the best solution.
