I cannot point my sample domain to DNS?
Problem:
I cannot seem to be able to point my domain www.example.com which is currently being hosting at a hosting company to the dns servers that I set up on Linux.
I tried:
1- Locally I ran the dig commands to check if I can reach the machine names that I created e.g ns1.exampe.com and ns2.example.com both in each case give me the static ip equivalant of what I assigned to them.
2- Also I tried the opposiet that is I tried the ip static numbers of the machine and ended up with their equivalant alphanumaric names.
So I was all jumpy and happy went to my host company .. admin...
some SRS admin page ..
and their system cannot point to my machines as it cannot find it.
I read some articles that I need ICCAN? They don't talk about registering a DNS server any where?
