I need help in BIND
Went to take a nap after all this and I still cant figure it out.
I have this weird back up DNS secondary and it is "dns.secondary.org" I did this: @ NS dns ; this is second ns2 dns A 66.98.244.118 but when I go to DNS Crawler, it reads xxx.com NS dns.xxx.com It is suppose to be dns.secondary.org I am too chicken-sheep to post my IP and domain. Someone is trying to get to my email server last week and tried 25+ times and it failed. |

Gosh, I am about to go crazy and I keep on trying and trying and finally got it.
@ NS dns.secondary.org. The "." at the end of org is SO IMPORTANT. I was getting "dns.secondary.org.xxx.com" without the DOT. |

I went to dnsreport.com and did my domain and I got this:
ERROR: You have one or more lame nameservers. These are nameservers that do NOT answer authoritatively for your domain. This is bad; for example, these nameservers may never get updated. The following nameservers are lame: 66.98.244.118 hahaha! Is secondary.org DNS backup lame??? Lame bubba sheep no good? ![]() |

It's not a lame server in the sense of "man, that's so lame...", but rather in the sense of a "lame horse". It could just mean that the domain on the secondary.org server hasn't taken effect yet. |
