Ip Addy
Im Connected To Cable .. Why Do I Have The Same Ip Addy After I Disconnect And Sign Back On... I Think I Have A Dynamic Ip Addy Which Is Suppose To Change Every Time I Shut Down My Computer... Evertime I Shut Down My Computer And Get Back On Line My Ip Addy Is The Same ... Are There Different Types Of Ip Addy's .... Does Each Computer Have A Perm. Ip Addy... ?

So what's your ISP? I don't know if you're using an ISP that has you behind a proxy, or if you use an ISP that has a friendly DHCP system.

thanks for trying to help... this is my problem i went to a internet site that will tell me my ip addy ...which is 68.108.1xx.xxx ... im on cable .. i did a winipcfg.exe and it says my server dns is 68.111.xx.xx ... where is the 68.108.1xx.xx x coming from ? if i change computers will my ip addy change ?

Your computer is probably trying to keep the same IP. On some cable providers it is very successful and your IP won't ever change. On other cable providers it will change maybe once a week. At no time will your IP change more than once a day.
