IRC Sever - With Domain - Help?
Hey, i'v just bought this domain for an irc server which i wish to use the domain as irc.DOMAIN.net (irc.slapnet.net) and I have set up a redirect to the DNS Ip of the server but it still does not work in IRC. Help please,
I have contacted by domain seller and they are as confused as i am - If you solve this your smart :P

Maybe the question confused the seller. I know it I have no idea what you're trying to say. I'll make a guess though.

1) You have a domain, but you haven't told me what it is. This alone makes it impossible for me to figure out what is wrong.

2) There is an IRC server, it has the domain "irc.slapnet.net". Ok

3) You want your domain to point to the IRC server domain. Sounds easy enough.

So what is your domain?

Sorry mate was a bit rushed -
I have an irc server also known as - kralj.net -

You can connect to that fine!

I tried forwarding the address irc.slapnet.net to the ip address of that server but it is not working and only does something in the browser.

Type in the browser irc.slapnet.net , and it comes up in there but will not load in mIRC. what Should i do?

The domain kralj.net is hosted by ZoneEdit.

slapnet.net resolves to 213.171.192.236
irc.slapnet.net resolves to 213.171.192.236
ns1.fast-hosts.org resolves to 213.171.192.236

The domain slapnet.net is hosted by the fast-hosts.org dns servers

As you say kralj.net works, cause it's pointed to the IRC server's IP address. irc.slapnet.net port 6667 does not work cause it's pointed to the wrong IP address. Change the IP to the kralj.net IP and you should be fine.
