Locking Down DNS
SilentRage, do you have a tutorial on adding Security to the DNS file?
I want to install the keys for the DNS file and SPF. The Keys look pretty straightforward, but if I add the SPF notation to the DNS zone file, will it affect my POP3 mail login via a browser? I do most of my email and such remotely. thanks, Frog

hrm, *sorts out questions from comments*, I guess your question doesn't concern keys, but does concern SPF? If that is the case here's the answer...
The short answer is that SPF has no impact on POP3. However, I'm assuming you are concerned about how an SPF record would impact using a mail client like outlook to download and send mail. The only way it would be an issue is if you have outlook configured to send mail directly to target servers. In which case you need to specify your client IP address in your SPF record as a valid sender of email from your mail domain. However, in my case this was not necessary. I configure my mail client to send all email to my mail server and the mail server will relay the email on to the target mail server. In that case it doesn't matter what my client IP is, it will always be my mail server that is the only valid sender of mail from my mail domain.
