Mail is considered as spam because of misconfigured DNS

I have a mail server behind a firewall which uses NAT . I am running sendmail . but most of the mail servers such as yahoo consider my mail as spam although my public IP is not listed in their CBL database.
I know it could be a problem with my public/private ip and FQDN and the Reverse DNS .

I want help to configure my Local DNS , /etc/hosts and sendmail .. to be precise I want to know which IP / hostname to be used in the above configuration on my mail server.

consider my private ip as 192.168.101.10 and domain as mydomain.ac.in , host mail server as mail.mydomain.ac.in and public ip as a.b.c.d

any text on this matter might help

all 192.168.*.* addresses are the result of NAT. They are never going to be in a 'good list'

Nearly all folks who run their own postfix/sendmail get at least one fixed IP address from their ISP.

Otherwise, just use your ISP's SMTP servive
