Multiple Site using Multiple Ips
Hello forum,
This is my first time using this forum, I have a question concerning Virtual Hosting. Currently i have websites that are entirely alike expect for the gifs on the page, the content of the pages are exactly the same. Only the gif changes for each company. I have Ip-based based hosting setting up, what i want is maybe to use name-based. The reason for this is i want to reduce the number of external Ips being used. Is named-based hosting the way to go? If so can someone define it to me in more details and what web server apps can utilize it, ie Apache, IIS etc. Also if the is not the solution is there another way to achieve this. I want to host all site on single server with single ip. Thanks in advance for assistance. |

name based hosting is all you need. Throw away those extra IP's. Here's an example of name based vhosts:

Named based hosting is good, but won't this be a problem... (quote from apache docs)
> Name-based virtual hosting cannot be used with SSL secure servers because of the nature of the SSL protocol So if I want to use SSL, that means I must use ip based, right? |
