MX Records for local SMTP server

My DNS records are as follows:

Code:
qartis.com. IN NS ns1.granitecanyon.com. ; 205.166.226.38
qartis.com. IN NS ns2.granitecanyon.com. ; 64.63.77.90
qartis.com. IN RP cleung6823@shaw.ca. qartis@qartis.com. ; EXTREF
localhost.qartis.com. IN A 127.0.0.1

qartis.com. IN A 209.53.61.205

*.qartis.com. IN CNAME qartis.com. ; GLOBALOK
w.qartis.com. IN CNAME 209.53.61.205. ; EXTREF
ftp.qartis.com. IN CNAME 209.53.61.205. ; EXTREF

My ISP (Telus) tells me smtp.telus.net should work as my SMTP server, and it used to, but it doen'st work anymore. I installed Hermes SMTP/POP3 server to run my own SMTP server, but I'm guessing I'll have to set it up using MX records in my DNS records. Does anybody know how to set this up?

Can't check your DNS because ns1.granitecanyon.com is currently dead and ns2.granitecanyon.com is a lame server.
Anyhow, whatever you need to do to your zone record you have to contact granitecanyon.com because they are authoritative to your domain.
In addition, just so you know, there no longer is such thing as CNAME on earth. Unfortunately it's still being used by those DNS illiterated people, the BIND people, who don't have a clue what DNS is.
If you wonder how to set MX record start here.
One last thing, you can't set localhost.qartis.com. Imagine what would happen if someone queries localhost.qartis.com. What IP should it return?
