Unhappy Need help on dns

he is the problem
i am totally new to dns and i want to make a dns server and host my something.com on my computer.

I have windows xp and it has IIS.
so, i install Bind 9.0 in XP by clicking setup.exe
i looked in the directory /etc for named.conf, but itz not there. I found named.exe in /bin folder.
that's all i did. I don't know what to do next.

please some one give me all the information on what to do next.

Try the BIND-PE windows installer:

http://ntcanuck.com

it's a lot easier to setup than the default win32 installer from the ISC site.

Your BIND config files btw will be placed in:

%WINDOWS%\system32\dns\

although the BIND-PE package above does install shortcuts to your start menu to allow you to backup, edit and restore configs, download root files and more.
