Reverse Lookup zoone
Hi, I have the following problem.
we can't send emails to spezific provider, because the reverse lookup for our mail server does not work. The problem is, we have a internet connection to provider "a", and our own mail server with the IP adresse of this provider "a". our web server und our ext. DNS is hosted by an other company "webhostig". So how does it works now with the reverse lookup? Does the "webhosting" company has to define it, or does the provider "a" have to do it? Thanks for any hints. |

Tell me the address if your mail server and I'll tell you.

This is the preferred method if your DNS needs to be fixed/setup fast and you don't have the time to bounce messages back and forth on a forum. Resolve "mail.bfwgroup.ch"
"mail.bfwgroup.ch" resolves to "212.117.209.194" DNS servers: ns1.warplink.ch (195.141.50.31) ns2.warplink.ch (217.8.221.182) ns3.warplink.ch (195.141.50.30) Resolve "212.117.209.194" Resolution abruptly ends at the backbone.ch DNS servers. You need to contact your ISP and have them delegate your IP to the DNS servers listed above. "ns1.warplink.ch" resolves "212.117.209.194" Your DNS servers do not resolve your IP. You need to set them up to resolve the IP. If they don't support it, change domain hosts. I recommend one of the following that supports reverse zones: http://www.dollardns.net/compare.html Last edited by SilentRage : April 19th, 2004 at 01:03 AM. |
