rndc flush in bind 9.3
Hi,
Recently I have installed bind 9.3 as DNS server.Everything seems to be fine except few domains could not resolve from our DNS server. When I check from other DNS , it works fine without hinderance. So this confirms problem in our DNS. I found from the DNS FAQ to flush the domain name or flush rndc if domain doesnt works. We have many clients which use our DNS and whenever they have problem , I have to flush rndc and after sometimes it stops resolving the same domain. Everytime I have to flush and this doesnt seems to be comfortable at our end as well as too problematic for our clients. Is there any best way to solve this issue in bind 9.3 . Any help to solve this problem is highly appreciated. Kind regards, eswari |

Tell me the domain and I'll tell you what's wrong with it - assuming that you have it running off of the problem servers or you tell me the problem server IP address(es).

Well, I'm not seeing any signficant problems yet. Change the domains back to the problem servers and I'll check it again.
Also, it might be helpful to remove CNAME references like the below: www.ahwanepal.org 86400 CNAME ahwanepal.org ahwanepal.org 86400 A 69.50.215.33 That's not what CNAME's were meant for. If you want a blow-by-blow description as to why the above is evil, let me know. |
