Server slowdown
Hi, guys. My server overload.
My website have 250,000 page views in day, Can you suggest me a suggestion how to fix this problem. If I would buy a hardware what I should buy and how much? Now I have two servers. First one is HP ,Pentium III 1.3 2 processor , ECC Ram 3 GB SCSI (mini tower) and Second one is PC PIV 2.6c My server always slow down on peak time everyday. I would increase a server and hopefully, it will be able to support 800,000 pageviews in a day. Please give me some suggestion. I really would consult someone who can help me to find the solution. That'll be nice if I can talk via msn. Please give me msn account via personal message. |

Are you sure it's the hardware or software's fault? Is it simply maxing out your bandwidth? Also, how is this a DNS question?

This is the preferred method if your DNS needs to be fixed/setup fast and you don't have the time to bounce messages back and forth on a forum. Why not? As you know when we have high traffic, the solutions can be DNS, hardware, network, application and so on. For example, Maybe someone will suggest me about roundrobin and we can discuss about it. |

Well, we can't just throw resources at a problem until it goes away. We need to find out what the problem is first. Find out if it's the CPU, memory, harddrive, or bandwidth that is being maxed out.
You didn't mention what operating system you're running. |
