    This sounds more like a port-forwarding issue than a DNS-specific one. Can you query that machine inside your network on another machine? Then try the same query mechanism from the internet.

    I suggest:

    dig @192.168.1.x a thebes.cc

    from both inside and outside your network (change the IP following the @ to the IP of your DNS server).
