Hi there,
I'm just learning about DNS and I want to try to setup the nameservers I know that I need 2 static ips but where to get 2 static ips. Is it the same ips which I use it to connect to the internet? Thank you |

If your nameservers will be on the public internet then you need to talk to your ISP. If you're just doing some testing on your private network then you can use any of the designated private IP blocks.

You could
You could pull a fast one on the registrar (if you want to make it public) and assign 2 name servers to the same public IP. You wont have any redundancy, but if you are just playing around who cares.
I know you can set up a nameserver at directnic.com (once you own the domain). good luck, ab http://www.diywebserver.com |
