The Correct setup to get SOA records right?

I'm running a DNS server on a W2K advance server. It IS NOT a PDC/BDC or DC, just standalone server in a CO-LO data center.

The Name of the Computer is showing up as the name of the DNS server. SO when I go into DNS I see the Compute name (ie COMPUTER1)

It is setup as being part of a workgroup, not a domain... even though there it is the only computer there for now.

Everytime I create a new zone, I get the default in the SOA record of COMPUTER1 and ADMIN.

How do I go about fixing this so it is correct? I have about 50 Domains on the Primary DNS server. I don't want to lose my records and need to make sure this DNS server is setup correctly.

I'll be adding a Secondary DNS within the next week or so as well.

HELP! PLEASE!

RL

As for configuring microsoft DNS server I don't know how to fix it. However, let's see if we can change that default.

Goto
Control Panel -> Network and Dial-up Settings -> Local Area Connection -> Properties -> Internet Protocol -> Properties -> Advanced

Play around with those tabs and see if you can get something working. The second option is obvious. Try changing the name of your computer.
