Trying to make my own top level domain
Hi,
I have a Fedora Core 1 Linux server set up on its own isolated network. This network cannot see anything else. I want to create my own domain called avengers.comic . The server machine will be captainamerica.avengers.comic Is this even possible? If not, how do you get DNS running on a network that is not connected to the internet? Please help. This is driving me crazy.

It's just applying basic principles of internet enabled networks to non-internet enabled networks. The DNS aspect is also quite easy. All you have to do is specify the DNS server's IP address(es) in the list of resolving DNS servers for each OS. Your own top level domain is easy as ping too.
