Update broke Remote DNS login
Recently I set up a 2k3 server on a soho network. It's running DNS for the network. I use Microsoft's VPN for remotes to login and have the ip settings on the VPN client to use the 2k2 server as the DNS for that connection. Everything was working great. Then the owner had me (against my will) install Norton's Security software. Well of course it stopped the dns communication. I tried to configure the Norton software but it had a few errors pop up. Well then I was forced to try to update 2003 Server to get Norton's to work. DNS was still broken. So I deleted and reinstalled the DNS Forward Zone for the network. Now without Norton running DNS works locally. But the funny thing is the DNS doesn't work for the VPN clients. My questions are: Is this a result of new settings from the 2k3 update or from Norton's software? And I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling DNS server, do I really need to do this? Hopefully I can resolve this issue with a little help. Thanks

eh, well, I'm no VPN or Norton Firewall guru so that kinda limits my understanding of what the problem is. I suggest removing Norton Firewall and see if that works. Process of elimination: remove all the variables you know of to narrow down what the problem is.
