We have a W2K advanced domain server and a secondary W2K server.
We installed everything. Domain server is 10.4.173.179. DSL-Router is 10.4.173.254. Secondary server is 10.4.173.178. When, on a workstation I enter 10.4.172.179 as the DNS, logging in on the domain goed great, but using the internet is impossible. When I enter 10.4.173.254 as DNS I can use the internet, but logging on to the domain-server takes almost an hour. How can I make a workstation log on to the domain-server and still be able to use the internet...??? |

Hi,
Try setting the DNS to the domain controller (10.4.173.179) and in the DNS management in the domain controller, right click the server, select properties and click the Forwarders tab. Here, enter the address of the DSL-Router (10.4.173.254). Hopefully, all DNS requests for webpages sent to the DNS server should then be forwarded to the router. HTH, Edwin |
