website issue
For the past 3 days I have had troubles accessing my website that is hosted by a webhost. It is up and down all day. They say that their server has not gone down at all and logs show no downtime for my website. The site has remained ping-able but that is it. I had 4 friends at 4 different geographical locations with different providers try accessing the site simultaneously and they could not see it. A fifth however was able to view it, and it wasn't a cahced page he pulled up. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what could cause this type of problem. The webhost is being very unreceptive to my problem and seems to believe they are not the problem which is ludicrous. This is a very important issue to me because my primary work email address runs through this server. Is there any suggestions I can make to the webhost? I am not looking to switch from them because they have been reliable for 3+ years but seem to have encountered a hiccup here now. Thanks.

You're asking this in the DNS forum so I'm going to take a DNS related slant to your question. What is the domain name and I'll tell you if it's DNS or website issues.

Is there a more appropriate forum to ask this question in?

That's a matter of opinion. I'm not yelling at ya for posting in the DNS forum so don't worry about it. Answer the question to be helped.
