Win2k BIND Intranet Help
Ok, I have an intranet, with only 2 "test" computers right now, one is win2k server and the other is Xp Pro.....Win2k Server is running the Bind service ("Server name is Pegasus").
I have read every single possible tutorial there is, but have been unable to set up a master for the pegasus domain... What I basically want done is to allow me, from the server itself or the networked Xp machine to access the Server/Webserver using URL or ftp using ftp.servername, etc.... I have tried in vain to set up the name servers properly for this to happen...they are working, but not the way I need/expect them to work, can someone please help me.. and by the way, if you can't tell, I'm so new at bind and dns it's not even funny...and please, do not suggest me going with microsoft dns, the reason I choose BIND was to get away from the microsoft solution to begin with Thank You in Advance for your Help Here are my Files Attached as I have them on my system... P.S. If you require me to make a change to a file, let me know |

Ha ha ha, I got it, I finally Got it, but not entirely.....here is the problem, will probably be easier for you guys and this time I will probably even get a response....
Server: -Name: Pegasus -IP: 192.168.19.138 -Domain Assinged to Server: Pegasus12.com Other Computers: -Name: Melo1 IP: 192.168.19.1 What happens now is that on the domain Pegasus12.com resolves on the server, but not on my "Other" computer. I don't really care whether the rest of the world can or cannot see my domain, thats only for me privately.... |
