windows 2000 pro & BIND 9.
1st Is it possible to run bind 9 on 2000 pro?
2nd Do I need perl and active ssl to do so?? I have downloaded bind 9.2.2 and placed everything in /WINNT/system32/dns/bin 3rd Is named.conf a file you create yourself? My bind does not have this file?? Do I create this with notepad or what??? All I get is error 1067 terminated unexpectedly??? Can someone please walk me through the steps??? |

1st) yes
2nd) no and no 3rd) yes, yes, and lastly yes That error means there's something wrong with your configuration so BIND was unable to start. You can grab my named.conf as an example: http://www.dollardns.net/bind/named.conf some other files you may find useful/informative: http://www.dollardns.net/bind/ Be sure to change the "directory" path and the zone name and filename for the master file you create.
