Windows 2003 DNS Trouble
As much as i know about DNS (isn't much) i have everything set up correctly. i have my domain registered at godaddy.com and i registered ns1 and ns2.lightning-concepts.com. i have also selected these name servers as my current name servers. but when i go to URL, it still goes to the default godaddy.com page. if i type in ns1 or 2.lightning-concpets.com, it goes to my web page. obviously i need it to do the same with www. i have been to dollardns.net and had Server: set to a.root-servers.net and Name: lightning-concepts.com. that eventually routes the request to ns1.lightning-concepts.com which is good i guess. if you put ns1.lightning-concepts.com in the Server: part and then leave Name: the same. it gives an error that it is unable to resolve 'ns1.lightning-concepts.com'. so im not sure exactly what i have messed up here. Wondering if anyone has the same problem or has any ideas to fix it. Thanks

It's a temporary problem:
dig @resolver.dollardns.net lightning-concepts.com any With this query you are asking the dns server that DNS Crawler uses to resolve servernames what it has to say about your domain. According to it, it thinks you are still using the park servers. This is because it was cached when you queried your domain before the servers updated. Specifying a.root-servers.net in the server field had DNS Crawler resolve your domain itself - and it does not keep a cache. So you know the domain works just fine. Unfortunately DNS Crawler does not support showing you the TTL field, so you can't know how long the park servers will remain in cache. But I've looked it up and it will expire in another 5.5 hours. As for how much longer your ISP's dns servers will cache the park servers I don't know. ISP's dns servers typically don't allow just anybody to ask them questions like that.

Thanks
Thanks, it seemed to sort of work a day after i posted my original message. Basically my first time doing this so i wasn't sure what everything meant, since it sort of worked in one place and not in another. Hopefully it will keep working. Thanks for the help
