Zone forward

I would like to forward a zone to an IP and a folder, eg.

100.100.100.1/foldername

How would I go about doing that? Sorry everyone I am really new at this.

You didn't give even close to enough information for anybody to help you. It also sounds like a webserver question.

Sorry about that. What I am looking to do is forward different zones to different areas on the same webserver.

sub1.domain.com --> /folder1
sub2.domain.com --> /folder1/folder2

The only thing I have come up with some far is using headers on the webserver. I was hoping someone would come up with something else. The version of webserver I am using only can have one site configured with headers. I was thinking that the dns server could forward to a virtual folder on the network.

Something like dyndns' webhop.

Sorry but DNS cannot do what you want it to do.

But, he asks...

If I have 1 static IP, and 2 Linux Boxes, 3 virtual hosts on box_a, and 3 virtual hosts on box_b,
HOW
do I use DNS [on box_a] to direct incomming traffic on the IP to the correct virtual host ?
AND
since I have an extra box laying around, is it beneficial to set up an entry point DNS server in front of box_a and box_b to direct incomming traffic to said boxes?

thanks...Frog

yeah well, I was busy that day and didn't feel like telling him "how" since it is a webserver related answer. He asked for a DNS solution and there isn't one. He should go post his question in the apache forum now.
