    Unhappy problem with subdomain change

    hi there
i am trying to change a record i had previously in my zone file (darktides.net).

    previously it was
    irc 14400 IN A

    now i changed it to
    irc 14400 IN A

then i restarted named. and its been about two hours already.
i still get the same old address when i lookup irc.darktides.net

does anyone know how i can get round this?

I'm getting something totally different just now:
    # dnsq any irc.darktides.net ns1.dailyhosting.com
    255 irc.darktides.net:
215 bytes, 1+5+0+3 records, response, authoritative, weird ra, noerror
    query: 255 irc.darktides.net
    answer: irc.darktides.net 14400 MX 0 irc.darktides.net
    answer: irc.darktides.net 14400 SOA ns1.dailyhosting.com root.cpanel.dailyhosting.com 1029564826 28800 7200 3600000 86400
    answer: irc.darktides.net 14400 NS ns2.dailyhosting.com
    answer: irc.darktides.net 14400 NS ns1.dailyhosting.com
    answer: irc.darktides.net 14400 A
    additional: irc.darktides.net 14400 A
    additional: ns1.dailyhosting.com 14400 A
    additional: ns2.dailyhosting.com 14400 A
As you can see, at the very least it no longer resolves to your old IP so I suggest you to wait a bit longer.

    Quick Tip

Make sure that you change your serial number on your zone file.
It is a very common mistake..
    Thank you,
