    DNS can't resolve .. it's own name ?

Hi all. We have a SuSE SLES 11 running DHCP service and also NAMED dns service, on a machine that has ip = 192.168.78.7 and hostname = network.bisc.es

And the problem is that DNS cant resolve its own name from another machine in the network, as 192.168.78.31 :

    C:\ > nslookup network.bisc.es
    Server: network.bisc.es
    Address: 192.168.78.7

    *** network.bisc.es can't find network.bisc.es: Non-existent domain

    Any ideas ? Sebastian.

PD - obviously, any other name produces similar results : nslookup points to correct DNS, but no IP is sent back.

Go to the server and try checking there. Do a "dig @127.0.0.1 network.bisc.es." and see what it says. Dig can give more useful information.

You may want to check your logs and make sure your zone was actually loaded as well.
