DNS/Captive Portal on Raspberry Pi
Hi I am a newbe to DNS but always willing to give things a try.
I have an idea of setting up a kind of very simple captive portal on a raspberry pi connected to my lan such that anyone on my lan is directed to it and depending upon their cookie either has to answer a load of maths questions before accessing the internet (for the kids) or gets bypassed and straight on the internet. I used OpenDNS for child protection etc.
I was thinking if I could change the primary DNS on my router to point to the pi and then add some code to a DNS server running on the Pi such that it points out to OpenDNS when criteria met.
I'm not sure how realistic and easy my idea is - I have some programming knowledge but was wondering if anyone can suggest some areas for me to google to find out more.
Thanks in advance
I also think for what you want to use it the PI has a cpu which is not strong enough.
