    G540 universal programmer dsPIC33 ??

    So I have a G540 programmer :

    http://www.pic16.com/en/wzcapi/g540.htm

Although device support list does not mention the 16 bit dsPIC33 , but does anyone know if it could program it? or any other 16 bit microcontroller that it could program?

Or do I have to buy PICKIT 2 or PICKIT 3 to program the dsPIC33 ?

Have you tried to get a definitive answer through the usual channels ?
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper

I didn't contact them because the one I have is not from them. The g540 is sort of like a generic design, many many chinese companies are producing that thing and selling it. I just pasted the link to show you what it looks like.

they already have a list which doesn't mention any microcontrollers with more than 8 bits. So dsPIC33 is also not there.

So I was wondering if there is a "hack" or something...

Also, I have a AVR USBasp programmer as well. Is there a way to get it to program dsPIC ?
Or the only way is through a pickit ?

    thanks.
