Thumbs up CDC class USB client project building under MPLAB-X

Hi everyone im new to this forum so be nice
Im trying to get a CDC class USB client project building under MPLAB-X for the Microchip PIC18F45J50 with the XC8 compiler.

I have installed MPLAB-X and XC8 compiler and also the usb demo projects. However I am struggling getting the sample usb project to build sucessfully. Here I believe is the demo project \USB\Device - CDC - Basic Demo in my program files. However after opening the project file and building I keep getting errors. Specifically "target not made".

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am relatively new to MPLAB-X and therefore I dont know the requirements etc.

    Regards

Chances are that the demo project was written for MPLAB v8. If in the demo project you see files with the extension .MCP and/or .MCW it will be an MPLAB 8 project.

You can use existing MPLAB 8 projects in MPLAB X, but you have to convert them first. To do this, start a new project and find "Existing MPLAB IDE v8 Project".
