Check if Firebird is running as a service

All,

I am writing an install program in Windows that needs to check

a) Is Firebird installed?
b) If yes, is it running right now?

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Better ask in the developers mailing list, you might get the source for their installer and this should solve your problems.

Thanks for you replies.

I guess i had not put my question correctly.

Is there a way to check whether the Firebird service is running on a Windows machine? I would like to know if a machine has Firebird already installed so that I do not install it again.

Thanks in advance
Andy
