Connection Error - Failire to respond
Hi All
I am using Delphi to connect to Firebird over a network. I finally managed to get the connection right, but the error I am getting is the following: Unable to complete network request to host "WISSA". Failure to establish connection. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or establish connection failed because host as failed respond. Does anyone have an idea on why this would happen? Thank you, Wissa ![]() |

Can you ping that host? Can you connect to the remote database with a tool like flamerobin?

Just tried that and same error of no response.
This is my connection string in Delphi: WISSA:C:\Projects\TESTPROJECT\main\ABDB.FDB Does that give you any ideas? Any help is much appreciated - thank you for responding. |

If you got the error from ping there is a network connectivity problem, unrelated to Firebird |

Pinging works - Flame robin doesn't
Is it possibly something with the connection string? |

Are you shure that Firebird is up and running on the remote host and that no firewall is blocking it? Can you telnet to firebird port on remote server? |
