Firebird security
In these thread in mysql forum MySql Security someone said that mysql's database files (*.MYD, *.MYI, *.FRM) are not password protected because he could copy those files and put them in another server and anyone could access them, unlike for SQL Server, where one sets the password to that database, then no matter where one copies it, one still needs the password to open it.
My question is how does firebird handle this? |

Well you should lock firebird databases dir from other users and if is a linux/bsd machine install it in a chroot/cage and the long answer is here for mysql/firebird (maybe) http://forums.devshed.com/t81372/s....yption+Standard http://www.saout.de/misc/dm-crypt/ ps: don't know how *secure* mssql server is but you can actually drop users from the atached db (if you are sa) .
