    GUI for the Embedded Firebird?

    Hi,

I am lookin for GUI for the embedded GUI, i have tried many gui but none of them worked for opening the embedded firebird database. Also if any one could tell me embedded firebird file or a normal firebird file. Is the difference lie in runtime only and no difference in .fdb file? IS there any settings needed to access embedded fdb files? Thanks in Advance

    Regards

Flamerobin works fine with embedded databases, no difference at .fdb file level.
Read the sticky on top of this forum for settings to connect to an embedded database.

I tried creating a database connection for FlameRobin to my embedded server, but it requires a username and password.

I deliberately did not set one for my db, so when trying to connect, I can't actually do anything unless I enter my username and password.

What can I do in this case?

"Any combination of user name and password is accepted, as long as neither is an empty string (a space is OK though)."

    "Note

Please note that, even though the security database is bypassed, SQL privileges specified in the database itself still apply: if you connect as Firebird user ZIGGY and ZIGGY doesn't have access to table STARDUST, you won't get into that table. This is not as worrying as it seems, because you can connect as any user you like, including SYSDBA, with a dummy password."

Embedded is just a type of FB client, the database file (.fdb) is the same, and you can edit that with any kind of FB Manager (IBexpert is my fav, but there are FlameRobin, EMS Manager, and a lot more...)

Embedded client is just a dll that you call in your application.

    Try Utility FBMetaData
You should be able to find it at freewarepark

I don't know if this program will work with the embedded version but if it does. Please let me know.
