More on charsets

Firebird 1.5.1 super server on Win2000, working locally but connecting with hostname:...

DB has WIN1252 as default charset. Created a table "Företag" (note national char"ö") connected with charset=NONE.

This table works fine in Marathon, connected with charset=WIN1252. But in InterXpress and IB_SQL, I have to connect with ServerCharSet=NONE for it to work.

Questions:

1. Does Firebird officially support national characters in table names? Column names?

2. How can I get this to work with a WIN1252 connection? In particular, how can I do it with InterXpress?

3. How have they solved this in Marathon?

Thanks,
Kjell

Flamerobin works...

OK, I tried FlameRobin, and it works there too. (Except for the fact that it doesn't use doublequotes in autogenerated select * from tablename. Add them and it works.)

In IBView there's no way to specify charset so I assume it uses NONE. This works of course, but it's not what I want (I want WIN1252 collation for Swedish).

MiTeC IB Query does not work with WIN1252 but with NONE (like IB_SQL and InterXpress).

Any clues?

Kjell
