Is it possible to restore a backup created with FB2.0 in FB1.5.3?

I think so, but, what prevents you from trying?
You could use the sample database "employee.fdb" if your db is too large.

FYI: It does not seem to work to restore a FB2 database in FB1.5.

Sounds strange, I did a test and it worked.
