Thumbs up Any tool for Firebird to SQL2000?

    Dear all,

Has anyone tried any tool to transfer FireBird metadata to SQL2000?

I need to create the same database that I made on FireBird for SQL2000 Server, and I am getting little lazy to transfer all stored procedures written in FireBird into SQL2000.

For tables, I have already generated them all by using DDL.... but for stored procedure, I need your advice on choosing the right tool.

    Thank you in advance.

FYI, my FireBird is working great for my ASP.NET (writtne in C#, .NET provider) server application and I am really satisfied with my choice.

    Hi,

There's no tool that can do this automatically.

    Smile How about WorkBench?

I just went to see WorkBench product.
Does this product transfer FireBird meta data to SQL2000?
It looks like it supports this kind of feature in WorkBench according to its web site.

The feature of transferring tables' schema and stored procedures is all I want. UDFs, I know, must be manually tralslated into a proper procedural language for the backend database.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Database Workbench can do Tables, Indices, Domains (partly), Constraints, Views (if the SQL supports it), but not CHECK constraints or Stored Procedures.

From Firebird to MS SQL might be easy as MS SQL supports most, if not all, that Firebird (1.5) supports, but the other way around isn't easy...

Nevertheless, Database Workbench is a pretty cool product
