Question Why same datatype exist?
I red the about interbase datatype.

I saw two datatype, DECIMAL() and NUMERIC().

It is a twins only name is differ.

Why same datatype exist?

The actual difference between the two types is minimal. To the best of my knowledge the same rules apply to DECIMAL data types.
