    FirebirdSQL RC8 in out

    All,

So far only win32 builds are available, the Linux ones should follow
    shortly.

    The CVS tag is T1_5_0_RC8_4201.

    Release notes:
    https://sourceforge.net/project/show...ase_id=206296.
    Binaries can be found here:
    https://sourceforge.net/project/show...group_id=9028.

    The main differences are:

    1) Some important bugfixes.
    2) Debug information (in PDB format) is distributed as a separate package.
    3) New tool (instclient.exe) is introduced to handle deployment of both
fbclient.dll and gds32.dll. The latter one is not distributed anymore.
    4) Version number of the public interface is added to ibase.h.

Once the holidays are gone and some public testing is performed (with
appropriate feedback, I hope), we will decide whether we're ready to mark
this build as a final release or not. Hopefully, this is the last
pre-release published before the final one. Amen ;-)

My best guess about those is, that because of the availability of third-party (non-free) drivers, the development is slowish... I guess most people already use a 3rd party driver...
