You better go any get a book on SQL because the syntax differs slightly for every Database Type and is to much to try and explain in a forum.
But here is a list of the different basic SQL statements that you get.
1. Select Statement
2. Update Statement
3. Insert Statement
4. Delete Statement
There is more to SQL than just these 4 statements, but these are the basic SQL statement types that you need to know.
When working with proper SQL databases like Firebird, M$ SQL Server and Oracle you will propably need to know some DDL (Data Definition Language) Statements aswell. These SQL like statements are used to create and drop tables, view and fields....but their syntax also differ from database to database.
