    the _root


    how do u know if something is sitting in the _root. This is slightly annoying as i have two identical (or so they appear) flash files except one works and the other doesnt. Typically i created the one that doesnt work :P

    Your best bet is to just do a trace("MovieClip: "+mc);. When running the fla in the software it'll tell you were your movieclip resides. You can always play with the debugger, but I find trace statements can be easier to follow.
