check active connection
I want to make a screensaver in Flash exported to .exe, which checks a server to get some text content. If I make a connection inside my Flash movie to an Internet location, it pops up the Windows Internet Connection window if there isn't an active connection. I want it to check wether there is a connection, but if there isn't, it shouldn't pop up and ask to connect to an ISP.
Is that possible? I know of some screensavers that work this way, but I don't know how to achieve it. Anyone an idea? |

I donīt think Flash can do that. do you have Director too? it needs an xtra though...
the other screen savers were probably made using a "real" programming language. but maybe you can embed your flash movie into a delphi/c program and have the flash movie call functions from your program using the fscommand interface.

hmm... checkout the we're here forums, SX may be able to help u on that nature.
I'm not saying it's possible but you'd be suprised what you can do with FSCommands - search for them. ![]() |
