CNN-type flash info boxes

I'd like to create a 5-6 panel presentation very similar to what CNN has at the link below on the topic of the death penalty and mental illness. Basically CNN has a hyperlinked menu with dates on the bottom margin and when you click on a certain year, it pulls up a paragraph or two of information along with a graphic.

This will not be web-based, but instead used in a classroom prsentation within a stand-alone flash-based lesson.

Can someone get me started here, please?

Hi, I made a little something up for you. I'm not really sure if this is what you want but it's pretty customisable and shows you how to do a few different things.

The .fla file is MX format, not 2004.

Aaaahh. I must be missing something. What I'm looking for is a series of tabs, each of which take you to a 300x200 window (not a pop-up) when you click on them. Then I'd have to be able to get back to the frame with the tabs (or menu buttons).

Hi, do you mean a bunch of frames i.e. the buttons are in say the top frame and when clicked they change the content in the bottem one?

That is exactly right. But the upper "frames" would be rollover buttons or something like that.

Hi, well I can break this down into two things for you. The first is this link. It will take you to a thread with a button that I made. It uses one method of achieving roll over buttons. The second part of what you want to do is explained here. It is a technote by macromedia on how to target specific frames. As you can see if you splice the two together you should be able to achieve your goal.
