    Copy/pasting in flash application

    Hi,

I have a graphics application that uses Flash

I cannot copy or paste using the Windows clipboard.

Can anyone tell me how I can enable these functions?

    Thanks

Hi, you need to make the text selectable in Flash:
    • Open the .fla file in the Flash IDE.
    • Select the TextField on the stage.
    • Open the properties panel.
    • The text field type needs to be set to either Dynamic or Input from the Type dropdown box.
    • Make sure the "Selectable" button is pressed in. That one looks like an "Ab" in a square button.

    Hi,

    Thanks for responding.

I have Flash installed, but I am not sure if I have the IDE installed (probably not).

Does your advice relate to images as well as text?

    Thanks

PS. OS is Windows Vista, 32 bit

The Flash browser plugin is the free download which allows you to view SWF files created with the Adobe Flash IDE which you must pay for. You can read more about the Flash IDE here on the Adobe site. If you do a google image search for "Adobe Flash CS5.5" you can see some screenshots of what it looks like. That will help you work out if you have it installed.

My previous post is for text content, it does not work for images. There are ways of getting Flash to save an image to the client machine but you have to implement them yourself.
