Director file on Mac and PC
I have a bit of an emergency. Our Director programmer needs to take her completed file and burn it to a CD that will be readable on both Macs and PCs. Has anyone had to do this?
Here's what she is doing so far: She is creating her original Director file on a PC and is generating a PC and a Mac version using a program called CD Everywhere. The catch is that the PC CD burner is not recognizing the Mac version. We also are trying a Mac burner, but that one is not recognizing the PC file. With regard to the PC burner, I thought that there may be an extension problem- the Mac version does not have an extension on it so maybe the PC burner software is not seeing it. Does anyone know the extension for a Director projector file? Any assistance would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks |

the short answer is: use Roxio Toast for the mac.
the problem on the PC isn't the extensions.... even if you have the extension for the mac projector file, that file may still not play well (or at all) on a mac platform, if you burn the CD from a PC. i don't know of any PC software that can burn a cross platform CDs... but that doesn't mean there's non out there. you might want to google it. but on the mac, Roxio Toast (titanium version?) have a "custom hybrid CD" option you select to burn a cross platform CDs. that's what i use at school. |
