Do you provide fla files to client?
Hi,
I am curious. Do most Flash Developers provide the fla to the client, or just the published swfs etc. I suppose this depends on the situation. How about in the case of an entire flash website? Would the developer provide the fla files, or keep them, for later site upgrades. Or, if you do provide the source files, do you charge extra? Thanks! I look forward to hearing your opinion on this. Hi, normally it depends entirely on what the client requests. If you work as part of a web development company then more than likely the company deals with the flash files on behalf of the client.
If you are a freelancer then usually you can keep hold of the flash files as long as you have been asked to maintain the site throughout the future. If it is a one off job then normally you would hand over your flash files as well as the swfs so that they can sort out their own updates later on. Take a look at the rentacoder site to get an idea of general freelance deliverables i.e. http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACode...RequestId=99122 If you can negotiate extra for the source files then all the better to you. Hope this helps -Tann |
