dynamic picture file
Is it possible to have flash load from a folder full of pictures? If not, how else would I do this? I want it to load whichever pictures are in a specific location and display them.

yes, take a look at my imageWeaver gallery component. it uses php to setup a gallery i mage list. there are one or two minor bugs, but it works fine other than them. http://imageweaver.buggedcom.co.uk

That's pretty neat, but a little to extravagant and slow for my purposes. I was hoping flash would have some sort of tool for dynamically displaying pictures. W/o using php

just thought of something, if you had a server with virtual listing turned on, then you might be able to load and parse the listings as xml and strip out unwanted data and use the file names

go to http://www.flashcomponents.net/ and look at the thumnail gallery component. There are some other great components there too if you look around.
