Extreme Flash Beginner here....where to?

right, howzit people,

i am a java developer, i love my scripting languages from which asp is one. recently i received a FLASH website, and was asked to provide asp functionality to it, like connecting to a database and doing basic reading and writing.

but i have never NEVER worked with flash!!! how do i do this? im looking for nice tutorials ... help please!!!
