Well, starting easy uhhh
Man, I wish I could make things like that but I doubt I'll ever have enough time to learn the techniques used there... ahh well

You might wanna check http://www.flashkit.com/ for tutorials/examples/help... if you thought DevShed was big (26k members), how about that site? (416k members )... quality -vs- quantity remains to be seen ofcourse but I guess it's worth checking out

Good luck!

site design

I would sugest two books... well maybe 4 or 5 books. Baisclly all of the "friends of ed" books related to "actionScript" Be sure to get the one on dynamic content and then the O'Reilly book on actionScript by Colin Moock.

The trick to designing sites like the one you show is first to learn the scripting and then when you look at a site like that one you can disect it and work out the steps to build it or at least work out the steps you would use to build it. for example the moveing sky is useing a mask and then moveing a graphic accross the window of the mask. The leading and trailing edge of the graphic match up so that when you loop the annimation you can't see the seam in the image. I also suspect that a good bit of the graphics in that site were created in "fireworks". As for all the little annimations in the interface those are very simple rollover effects. Another thing to consider is that people who are doing that kind of work have most likely been doing it long enough to have aquired a library of files with verious effects that they can cut and paste into new projects. Keep your code and your movies modular.
